Ingredients

Method

  • Place all the ingredients into a thick bottomed pan.
  • Place pan on a stove.
  • Apply heat from the stove and mix the ingredients in the pan gently together
  • Bring to the boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for five minutes.After 5 minutes, carefully remove the pan from the stove
  • Strain the hot syrup in the pan through a metal sieve into a heat resistant container
  • Cool the syrup in the container and then chill.

Serving Suggestions

  • Pour some syrup into a tall glass; add some ice and cool water with a sprig of mint.
  • Pour neat over ice cream
  • Mix with gin, or vodka, soda water, ice and a slice of lemon to make a Rose Tea Cocktail
