Work of Art in a Teacup! Review by Kirsten
Rating I come from South Africa and before now had only drunk Rooibos the way a lot of people in South Africa do -- with milk and sugar in, just like 'normal' tea.
Curiosity drove me to try the Jenier one with cacao and hibiscus, because it seemed like a novel combination. Well, it's absolutely fantastic -- like plain old Rooibos from the South African bush has been given a gown and sent to the ball.
The cacao provides a really rich depth and highlights the rooibos's own deeper notes, while the hibiscus provides a light floral top-note which stops the tea being too heavy or one-dimensional. And the lemongrass provides the final balancing touch, bringing out the citrus elements of rooibos and truly making the most of this wonderful tea's many tasty facets!
I still drink regular, supermarket-rooibos with milk and sugar, but this Jenier one gets drunk on its own as a real treat, and a great afternoon pick-me-up. I couldn't recommend this tea highly enough! (Posted on 04/02/2010)
