Handknitted yarn from the Gotland, Shetland, Wensleydale & Galway Sheep.

Discover The Experience

Before being spun in Cornwall, the yarn is collected from four different breeds of sheep. The Gotland breed is a Swedish breed nurtured by the Vikings on the island of Gotland over 1000 years ago and boasts wool that is very fine, long and lustrous. Shetland sheep renowned for their fine, soft and crimpy fleece bring a wonderful texture to the yarn, a traditional fleece that's been collected in Shetland since the eighth century. The wonderful 'scone' cream colour of this tea cosy has to be attributed to the beautiful and elegant Wensleydale sheep with their long shiny coats and fine wavy wool. Last but not least in the mix is the pedigree Galway sheep. Created by mixing English Leicester sheep and the large long wool breed native to Ireland, the Galway is a large sheep with medium length fine wool, perfect for spinning and providing the fourth strand for this truly international Tea Cosy and Breakfast Set.
