Decaffeinated Sencha Green Tea made to Japanese specifications from South India. The dry tea leaves are dark green in colour and when infusing, we would suggest using slightly less leaf than you would normally use as the flavour can be quite intense. Decaffeinated using the Co2 process so you won't find any chemical solvents in this cup, only great tasting green tea without the caffeine.

Decaffeinated Sencha Green Tea: Your FAQ Guide

We've gathered the most frequently asked questions your customers might ask!

What is Decaffeinated Sencha Green Tea and how is it produced?

Decaffeinated Sencha Green Tea is the decaffeinated version of the traditional Japanese Sencha Green Tea, grown in the Travancore region of South India. The tea leaves are steamed, rolled, and then dried to create a green tea that is light, refreshing, and lower in caffeine. Decaffeination involves soaking the tea leaves in water and naturally occurring carbon dioxide, which extracts the caffeine while allowing the tea to retain most of its flavour and healthy antioxidants.

How does the flavour profile of Decaffeinated Sencha Green Tea differ due to its South India origin?

The Travancore region of South India, renowned for its fertile soil and ideal climatic conditions, imparts a landmark twist to the traditional Sencha flavour profile. This tea tends to have a more robust expression with warm, slightly tropical notes, though it retains the underlying fresh, vegetal taste associated with Sencha Green Teas.

What health benefits can I expect from Decaffeinated Sencha Green Tea?

The health benefits of Decaffeinated Sencha Green Tea are plentiful. Its antioxidant properties contribute to overall wellness by neutralising damaging free radicals. It's also a lower-caffeine option than other teas and coffees, which can be beneficial if you're sensitive to caffeine or want to reduce your intake. Please note that, while decaffeinated, it still retains a small quantity of caffeine.
