Preparation Guide for Hot Tea
BLACK
2.5g 230ml Fresh Boiled Water 3-7 minutes Use fresh boiled water. Use 1 tsp of tea per cup (approx 230ml). Infuse for 3 - 7 minutes or to individual taste. Can be enjoyed with milk and sugar.
FRUIT
2.75g 230ml Fresh Boiled Water 6 - 8 minutes Use fresh boiled water. Use a heaped to 2 tsp of tea per cup (approx 230ml). Infuse for 5 - 7 minutes or to individual taste. Can be enjoyed with sugar - do not add milk as tea will curdle.
GREEN
2.5g 230ml Use fresh boiled water cooled to 180°F or 82°C. 2-4 minutes Use fresh boiled water cooled to 180°F or 80°C. Use 1-2 tsp per cup (approx 230ml). Infuse for 2-4 minutes orto individual taste. Best enjoyed without milk or sugar.
HERBAL
1.2-1.5g 230ml Fresh Boiled Water 6 - 8 minutes Use fresh boiled water. Use 1- 2 tsp per cup (approx 230ml). Infuse for 5 - 7 minutes or to individual taste. Add sugar to taste if required.
OOLONG
2 - 3g 230ml Use fresh boiled water cooled to 180°F or 82°C. Rinse leaves first with hot water, then 1-2 minutes Use fresh boiled water cooled for a few minutes. Use 2 - 3 tsp per cup (approx 230ml). Rinse leaves with hot water then discard. Add hot water again and infuse for 1-2 minutes or to individual taste. Leaves can be infused several times, infusing slightly longer each time. Best enjoyed without milk or sugar.
ROOIBOS
2.5g 230ml Fresh Boiled Water 6 - 8minutes Use fresh boiled water. Use 1 tsp of tea per cup (approx 230ml). Infuse for 3 - 7 minutes o rto individual taste. Can be enjoyed with milk and sugar.
WHITE
2g 230ml Use fresh boiled water cooled to 180°F or 82°C. 2 - 4minutes Use fresh boiled water cooled to 180°F or 90°C. Add 1-2 tsp of tea per cup (approx 230ml). Infuse for 2-4 minutes or to individual taste. If drinking in a cup, do not remove leaves - when water levels low add more water and repeat infusions until the leaves are exhausted of flavour. Best enjoyed without milk orsugar.
FLOWERING
1 pod 690ml Fresh Boiled Water 3 - 5 minutes for the flower to unfurl,then infuse dependent on tea type Use a medium to large sized glass tea pot or tempered glass pitcher. Use fresh boiled water and bring to a full boil. Pour water into the glass teapot or pitcher and then immediately, carefully drop the tea pod into the boiled water. The pod will floatinitially releasing air bubbles but will then begin to unfurl and sink to the bottom of the teapot. This unfurling processtakes around 3-5 minutes. Pour and enjoy.
